This past Wednesday, we partnered with the 21 in ’21 Initiative, Lower Eastside Girls Club, and Run for Something to host a panel and ‘speed dating’ event for women interested in running for office or working on a campaign.
And woah. If you’ve been keeping up with the news, you know that women are running for office in record numbers. But there’s nothing like feeling the energy in a room packed with women who are ready to make a difference.
Our incredible panelists shared such great insight, advice, and encouragement that we didn’t want to keep it to ourselves.
Here are some of our favorite tidbits:
1. This amazing pep talk
Great advice from @flordeoro_ on fighting doubts about running:
If you’re doing something really important, you never feel 100% ready. It’s normal and it’s fine. You have to get past it to do the work. #campaigns101 #21in21 @21in21NYC @girlsclubny @runforsomething

2. A simple but effective way to improve your communication (and stay humble)

3. This insider tip to boost your fundraising
Hot fundraising tip from @AllegraShine:
If you ask a potential donor for a BIT more than they are comfortable giving, you have a great shot at getting their max. ????#campaigns101 #21in21
