This year has been tough. And in the days leading up to the midterm election, it only got uglier. But earlier this month, the American people rejected the politics of fear and ushered in a New American wave into office, washing away the pale, stale, male leadership and bringing new, progressive voices to the forefront. Record high voter turnout resulted in the election of the most diverse Congress in our nation’s history.

This year is about keeping the momentum going. That’s why, for #GivingTuesday, a national day of giving, I’m raising money to support New American Leaders. New American Leaders is a non-profit organization that prepares first and second generation Americans to use their power and potential in elected office.

They believe that when our elected officials mirror the makeup of our nation, we achieve stronger communities, a more responsive government and a robust democracy. They are the only national, nonpartisan organization focused on bringing New Americans into the political process.

Their alumni have won seats all across the country!  Check out all of NAL’s victories up and down the ballot.
